🚨 Historic Social Security Win for Connecticut Educators & Public Employees 🚨

Radiant Wealth Management |

For decades, Connecticut teachers, university faculty, and state workers faced unfair reductions in their Social Security benefits. That changed on January 5, 2025, when President Biden signed the Social Security Fairness Act, eliminating WEP and GPO—two provisions that had reduced benefits for millions of public employees since 1983.

For Connecticut alone, this means:

Immediate increases for at least 32,000 current retirees

✅ Better retirement outcomes for educators, state workers, and their families

✅ Retroactive benefit adjustments back to January 2024 (though SSA says processing may take over a year)

This was a hard-fought victory, and I had the privilege of writing about its impact in The Hartford Courant. Read my full op-ed here: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eF4NBHYN
